Frequently asked questions
General questions about appointments, payment, CHAS & MediSave, insurance and visiting us. For questions about a specific treatment — cost, recovery, how long it takes — see the procedure pages listed below.
Appointments & visits
Can I get all my dental treatments done in one visit?
It may be possible to complete multiple treatments in a single visit if they are not complex. However, for more complex treatments that require a longer duration, the dentist may advise you to return for a second visit.
Do I need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian if I am under 21 years old?
If you are below 21 years old, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you during the consultation and first visit so the dentist can inform them of the suggested treatments or procedures.
How can I book an appointment?
The quickest and most convenient way to book your appointment is on our booking page www.advanceddental.co/book-online. At this page, you have the option of booking with your preferred clinic, your preferred dentist, or even to find a same or next day appointment at any available clinic (this option is recommended if you are in pain and have no preference for dentist)
Can I walk in for a dental appointment without a booking?
If you walk in without an appointment, we can offer you a slot on the same day if one is available. If you are in pain and no slots are available, we will try to squeeze you in to treat your symptoms. We may offer a follow-up appointment to address the root cause of the pain. If no slots are available and you are seeking routine treatment, we will offer you an appointment on another day. It is best to make an appointment to minimize your waiting time.
Before your visit
Do I need to let my dentist know the medications I'm taking?
Yes, please inform us of all the medications you are taking. Before your appointment, list down all the drugs you take, including the dosage and how often you take them. Over-the-counter products, herbal products, and supplements should go on the list, too. This would help us better understand your medical history and help us customise a treatment plan for you.
Can pregnant women get dental treatments?
Pregnant women can safely receive basic dental treatments like scaling, polishing, and fillings.
What do I need to prepare for treatment at Advanced Dental?
Do let us know of any drug allergies and medication that you are taking prior to treatment. It may be useful to send us a copy of relevant medical reports and diagnostic imaging (x-rays) pertaining to your health and dental condition. This is to prevent potential complications that may affect the treatment and your itinerary.
Costs & subsidies
Are CHAS subsidies available for dental treatments?
Yes. CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme) subsidies are available for a range of dental treatments for eligible cardholders — including scaling and polishing, fillings, extractions, dentures, root canal treatment, and crowns. The subsidy amount depends on your CHAS tier. You can view the current subsidy amounts at https://www.chas.sg/chas-dental-subsidies.
Where can I find a list of treatments and subsidies covered by CHAS?
Refer to the CHAS website for the current list of subsidised dental treatments and their claim limits: https://www.chas.sg/chas-dental-subsidies.
What is the price for a dental consultation and are there CHAS subsidies available?
Our consultation charges are: By general dentist: Short (<10 min) - $20 to $40* and Long (> 10 min) - $50 to $80. By specialist: Short (<10 min) - $50 to $80 and Long (> 10 min) - $90 to $180. A short consultation with a general dentist will be waived if your last treatment was less than 12 months ago and a new treatment was performed at this visit. CHAS subsidies are available for a full oral examination. Limits are up to 2 consultations per calendar year, with a 6-month interval.
How do I apply for a CHAS card?
You can apply for a CHAS card online at https://www.chas.sg, or in person at your nearest Community Club (CC).
Where can I view the amount of CHAS subsidies I am entitled to?
You can view your CHAS dental subsidy eligibility and limits at https://www.chas.sg/chas-dental-subsidies.
Can I use MediSave to pay for dental treatments?
MediSave may be used to pay for surgical procedures such as surgical tooth removal (e.g. impacted wisdom teeth), implant surgery, bone grafts, and biopsies. If you are aged 60 or above, you can also use Flexi-MediSave for root canal treatment and crowns. Procedures such as braces, Invisalign, and dentures cannot be paid for with MediSave.
Payment
Do you accept Atome as a payment option?
We accept Atome instalment plans. The 6-month instalment plan is dependent on the Atome user; for the 6-month option, contact Atome directly. A 5% surcharge is levied on the final bill for payments made with Atome instalment plans.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash, PayNow, NETS, VISA/Mastercard/Union Pay, Atome, and GrabPay.
Do you accept Baby Bonus as a form of payment?
Yes, payment can be made via Baby Bonus. Parents can also use the funds in their child's Child Development Account (CDA) towards payment of treatment for the child's siblings.
Do you accept CDC vouchers as payment?
Yes, we accept CDC vouchers at our heartland branches, except: Buangkok, Bishan, Novena, Pasir Ris Central, Punggol Waterway, Sengkang Rivervale Mall, Simei, and Woodlands Central.
Insurance
Are dental treatments covered by insurance?
Whether dental treatment is covered depends on your individual insurance policy. Some policies cover routine or surgical dental care, while others exclude it. Please check with your employer or insurance provider for the specifics of your coverage and how to make a claim.
Which clinics are in the panel for AIA and IHP AON Care insurance?
We accept AIA and IHP Aon Care insurance at all branches except: Bishan, Jurong West, Novena, Punggol Northshore, Punggol Waterway, and Tampines East. Panel status can change — please check with our team before booking.
